A quick not about the "spammy" addons it mentions: when you have one of those, you are causing headaches not only for yourself, but for everyone in the raid, or guild (depending on the addon). A simple addon that displays the location of guildies (who have the same addon) spam the addon channel of the guild every time you move. The data reaches
everyone in the guild. Whether they have the addon or not is not checked. The only way to prevent that traffic is to add the originator to your ignore list (in fact, there is such an addon, which warns that it would automatically ignore about 90% of the raid if you enable it). So, please be very careful about what addons you install and use.
I am inclined to test the combat log settings, but I am afraid it might interfere with the raid statistics uploads. So if anyone has any information about this, I would love to hear it.
