hey guys been going through elitist jerks to find a some solutions to the dc's i get during boss fights etc., and came across an article yesterday which helped me alot. Most of you guys must already know these little tweaks but for those of you who dont hope this helps. :)

http://elitistjerks.com/blogs/cadfael/302-fixing_chain_disconnecting.html
http://eu.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?locale=en_GB&articleId=19465

with these changes i didnt DC through large aoe battles etc., like i usually would and my overall latency became much more consistent.

Very informative post. Thanks for pointing it out.

A quick not about the "spammy" addons it mentions: when you have one of those, you are causing headaches not only for yourself, but for everyone in the raid, or guild (depending on the addon). A simple addon that displays the location of guildies (who have the same addon) spam the addon channel of the guild every time you move. The data reaches everyone in the guild. Whether they have the addon or not is not checked. The only way to prevent that traffic is to add the originator to your ignore list (in fact, there is such an addon, which warns that it would automatically ignore about 90% of the raid if you enable it). So, please be very careful about what addons you install and use.

I am inclined to test the combat log settings, but I am afraid it might interfere with the raid statistics uploads. So if anyone has any information about this, I would love to hear it. :)

This is an imba topic Choo, thanx a lot for sharing the links.

I've done a lot with my latency, but I still feel I have UI lag and didnt know how to get rid of it. Now I see some of the addons and the combat log are listed there already.

Gonna run home after work tonight to disable them.

Buiws,

-Delete Recount (officers monitor anyways and I assure you they will let you know if you SUCK! At least Beh will)
-Right click on your COMBAT tab in your message window in WoW, and go to Settings, there you can customize all the data your WoW will save and show you. This includes a lot of needless crap like other people dying and stuff, who cares. Just remove all the checks of the stuff you never use.

This might improve your input lag, but with me it made little difference, oh wait I don't have lag!
